Find out why Jeju Island is called the “Hawaii of South Korea”.

See
Hallasan is the island’s dormant volcano and a UNESCO Biosphere reserve. You can time your visit to catch the different colours of the season or, book a hike to explore the slopes, the crater lake and other parasitic volcanoes. The eight-kilometre Manjang Cave, a UNESO Geopark, will delight those who love the dark and eerie with its one-kilometre passageway open to visitors.

Do
Make a trip to Jungmun Beach or Seogwipo to watch the haenyo at work. These are the island’s famous women divers who continue their trade of diving for abalone, octopus, squid and clams without any breathing apparatus. These women dive well into their 80s, and are the pride of the island.

Shop
Check out Jeju’s busiest traditional market, Dongmun. Lots of snacks, street food, local fruits, fresh sashimi – all to tantalise the tastebuds. For shopping, you’ll find all manner of souvenirs and Korean-made cosmetics and more to buy at Jungang Underground Shopping Centre.

Stay
Located at the heart of Jeju Island, Hyatt Regency Jeju is near Iho Tewoo beach. The interiors are bright and airy to welcome the outdoors in, with rooms offering beautiful views from the balconies of Hallasan, the sea, and the city.
